Steve attended Utah State University and graduated Summa Cum Laude and Scholar of the Year with a Bachelor of Arts in Accounting in 1984. He earned a Master of Business Administration in 1985 from the Kellogg School of Management at Northwestern University.

Steve joined Harold Dance Investments in 1999 as Vice President. Since 2004, he has served as President and is a shareholder of the firm.

Steve grew up in Logan, Utah, and currently resides in Providence, Utah. He is married with 4 children and 11 grandchildren.
